IAU Combats Misinformation on Interstellar Object Comet 3I/Atlas

The International Astronomical Union (IAU) has launched a global campaign to counter online misinformation about the interstellar visitor 3I/ATLAS. Coordinated by the IAU Office for Astronomy Outreach (OAO) and the Minor Planet Center (MPC), the initiative provides verified facts, FAQs, videos, and infographics for the public and media.
3I/ATLAS is the third interstellar object observed passing through our Solar System, discovered by the NASA-funded ATLAS telescope in Río Hurtado (Chile). MPC has received 4,000+ observations, confirming the object’s hyperbolic orbit and that it will not come close to Earth.
